Frequently asked questions
Here are some of the most common questions we've received about WooCheckout for WooCommerce.
1. What makes WooSearch so fast?
WooSearch doesn’t need to query the database every time a search is typed in. Instead, it creates a JSON file which is stored locally. This is updated every time you update product data, and as a result its much faster when querying search term. Try the demo, you’ll be surprised at how fast WooSearch is compared to other WooCommerce search plugins.
2. Why should I use WooSearch?
Because its been designed to be modern, whilst also offering functionality not found in other search plugins. Aside from that its super lightweight, easy to setup and best of all provides your customers with a better user experience when searching for products.
3. How easy is it to integrate and setup?
Very! Simply install the plugin, activate, and override the WooCommerce search in the settings. Everything else is optional. It really is as simple as 1, 2, 3.
4. Can I customise where it looks for products?
Yes. You can choose to search for products by title, SKU and description. You can also search by custom fields. More info on that below.
5. What's this about custom fields?
We hear you. WooSearch provides support for custom fields. Let’s say you run a bookstore and have created a custom field to display author information. You can choose to include this custom field so when customers search by author, relevant results display. You can add as many custom fields as you want too!
6. Can I choose how many results to display per page?
Yes of course. You can change this setting easily in the plugins settings.
7. What other information can WooSearch display?
It can display brand logos if you’re using WooCommerce Brands plugin from WooCommerce.com. It can also show stock status, delivery promotions, and automatically work out and display savings on sale prices vs RRP.
8. Can I change the placeholder texts?
Yes. All the placeholder texts can easily be edited in the plugins settings.
9. Can I use this just as search without filters?
Whilst we think it provides a better experience to offer search results and filters all in one, the choice is yours. You can disable the filters in the plugins settings.
10. Can I exclude results from the search?
Yes. You may want to exclude certain products and/or categories from the search results and support for that is built in. You may also want to hide out of stock products and you can do that as well.
11. Does WooSearch have a yearly subscription?
No. We don’t charge on a per year basis to use our plugin. Once purchased you’ll receive future updates for life.
12. Do you provide premium support?
When you purchase WooSearch from CodeCanyon, you’ll get 6 months of dedicated support. You can extend this to 12 months for a small fee. After this period, if you need support you’ll need to renew your support as per CodeCanyon’s rules.
